Main Clinic - Fargo/Moorhead


Pauline Economon, RN, MSN, MA, has been the Executive Director of FirstChoice Clinic since 2001.  She has over 25 years of combined health care and administrative experience.  Her areas of expertise include the following: sexual health and fertility care; marriage relationship skills; development of morally and professional acceptable reproductive health services; and religious program development and administration.  She has a Masters of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University and Masters of Arts in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH.

George Economon retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the North Dakota Air National Guard. He is a full time volunteer at FirstChoice Clinic, serving as its Special Projects Director.  He is numerous boards and is an active in his local parish.

Susan Richard has worked at FirstChoice Clinic since 1994.  From 1994 through 2000, Susan served as Executive Director.  In 2001, Susan assumed the position of Special Events Coordinator, overseeing the fundraisers for the clinc, i.e. Banquet, Golf Marathon, and Life Walk.

Patti Killoran  started at FirstChoice Clinic, March 2004, as Nurse Manager after many years as a Labor/Delivery Nurse. Patti is a pregnancy counselor and trained to perform limited obstetric ultrasounds.  As Client Services Director, she oversees client services, medical policies and procedures, ultrasound services, and the Earn While You Learn program at our three sites.

Renae Setter is a registered nurse with 20+ years of experience as a psychiatric nurse. Renae has served as Staff Nurse for FirstChoice Clinic since 2001.  Renee is a pregnancy counselor and also trained in limited ultrasound.

Renee Johnson has worked as a public health nurse in WI & MN and an OB nurse at a clinic in Minneapolis.  Joined FirstChoice Clinic in September 2006, with experience as a public health nurse and OB nurse. As a Fertility Care Nurse, Renee has daily interaction with clients and is also trained in the Marquette System of Natural Family Planning.

Lisa Swan, RN Lisa earned her BSN from the University of North Dakota in 2007. After graduation I worked in the Cardiac Surgery ICU at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and moved to the Fargo area in 2009 and worked in endoscopy and CV Diagnostics until starting in my current position with FCC as Nurse Manager.

Vicki Larson - Vicki began working at FirstChoice Clinic in 2001 as the Director of Make a Sound Choice. In 2007, she began working as outreach and events coordinator for the clinic.

Lora Miller joined FirstChoice in 2006 and is now the Office Manager for both FirstChoice Clinic and the Make a Sound Choice program. She has an Associates Degree as a Medical Administrative Assistant in 2000.

Deb Roesler is a registered nurse and has experience in OB/GYN, Intensive Care Nursery and Pediatric Home Health Care.  Deb is working as the Earn While You Learn Coordinator/Client Educator at FirstChoice.

Patti Allex joined FirstChoice Clinic’s team as the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant in February of 2008.  Patti is the person that meets our clients when they come through our doors.

Jill Gruman has a degree in math education from MSUM and taught at the Juvenile Detention Center and Moorhead High. She married her best friend and is passionate about sexual integrity and healthy choices.

Luanne Krein has been the Administrative Assistant  at FirstChoice Clinic-Lake Region, since it opened in 2008.

Mary Waldo, RN, is FirstChoice Clinic Lake Region manager. She recently received her associate degree in nursing from Lake Region College and has always had a passion for working in healthcare.  Mary said the life’s events that brought her back to the Lake Region have given her an understanding, compassion and desire to work with mothers, fathers, and the unborn.

West – Bismarck/Mandan


Barbara Frank is a graduate of University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in psychology. As Center Director, Barbara will oversee FirstChoice's newest satellite clinic, FirstChoice Clinic - West serving the Bismarck/Mandan area which opened in October, 2010.

Jean Horner, RN,  received Bachelor of Nursing from Medcenter One, Bismarck ND and has worked at the Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen ND, and brain injury rehabilitation center in Mandan ND.

Michelle Faris joined FirstChoice Clinic West in Bismarck in 2011. She attended college at Trinity Bible College, Ellendale for Office Administration. Her previous employer of 7 years was St. Alexius Medical Center, Radiology Secretary / Receptionist.

Wendy Schmidt, RN joined the FirstChoice Clinic West team in 2012 and is a 2003 graduate of University of Mary with a degree in nursing and theology.  Over the last 8 years I have worked as a labor and delivery nurse in Fargo, Wichita, St. Paul and most recently Bismarck.
