About Us

Established in 1984, FirstChoice Clinic (FCC) is a faith-based, nonprofit, 501(c)3 medically based pregnancy help center.  Offering comprehensive pregnancy help services, FirstChoice serves clients from all of North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota.  The staff of the clinic is made up of licensed registered nurses, volunteer physicians and sonographers.  In 2006, FCC recorded over 1,850 client visits – offering services that include pregnancy testing and counseling, ultrasound, sexual integrity classes parenting education, adoption promotion, prenatal and fertility care education.  Our services and programs are offered free of charge and are funded by private donations, community grants, North Dakota Department of Human Services (through funding for alternatives to abortion services) and several annual fundraising events.

The Clinic's positive youth development program is Make a Sound Choice (MSC).  MSC is a character and life skills education program, this program focuses on teaching our youth responsible decision making skills to empower them to make healthy choices in avoiding risky behaviors such as alcohol, drugs, premarital sex, tobacco and violence.  The program reaches students primarily in middle and high schools.  For over 12 years, FirstChoice Clinic has focused, not only on intervention regarding out-of-wedlock pregnancies – but prevention with character education.  The MSC program receives supplemental funding from the North Dakota Health Department (Title V funding), US Department of Health and Human Services, as well as private donations from individuals and businesses to support the program.
